Living Expenses

There is no doubt that Uzbekistan is a great place to enjoy a quality education and a high quality of life. Uzbekistan offers excellent prices for living expenses and tuition costs comparable to other neighboring countries.

An average international student here will spend about 400-500 USD a month on accommodation, food, clothing, entertainment, transportation, and telephone costs. Books and administrative fees are approximately USD 100-150 per semester. Of course, remember that this price depends on your location, lifestyle, and degree course you attend.

For those who study there, the cost of living in Uzbekistan would vary, as their lifestyles are distinct and their daily lives differ. Generally speaking, the prices can be relatively low compared to many other destinations, and what’s even more important, they are declining in recent years making Uzbekistan a perfect study abroad destination for most prospects.

When it comes to food, the prices are affordable, but only for those items that are produced in the country itself and they can be found at the local stores. Imported products are available, but they are far way expensive. Dining out is always attractive and students like it, as restaurant meals are not expensive for those who can afford them in more developed countries.

Tashkent has a four-line metro built in 1977. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are currently the only two countries in Central Asia with a subway system. It is promoted as one of the cleanest systems in the former Soviet Union. The stations are exceedingly ornate. There are government-operated trams and buses running across the city. There are also many taxis, registered and unregistered. Uzbekistan has plants that produce modern cars. Train links connect many towns in Uzbekistan, as well as neighboring former republics of the Soviet Union. Uzbekistan launched the first high-speed railway in Central Asia in September 2011 between Tashkent and Samarqand.

Accommodation

Tashkent provides well-furnished dormitories and a hostel facility within the campus and it can accommodate up to 700 students. Tashkent provides high-quality accommodation for the students to make their stay a pleasant experience.

The Management has imposed strict rules where students are required to observe strict discipline. The 24/7 security services are available, and non-residents and students without ID cards are not allowed to enter the dormitories.

Ladies and gentlemen are accommodated on separate floors: the first and third floor of the building is occupied by the gentlemen and the second floor is reserved for the ladies. Most of the rooms in the dormitories are twin sharing; with attached bathrooms and the basic amenities equipped in every room.

The dormitories provide spacious self-service kitchens for those students who wish to cook their own meals. There are two kitchens located on each and every floor and equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, and an electric stove. Other services include free laundry for the student residents.

Life at the campus is filled with excitement and fun and there are always activities happening to keep the students occupied when they wish to take a break from studying. There are many opportunities within the dormitory environment to make new friends of similar or distinct interests.

The location of the dormitories is within convenient walking distance to the metro station, marketplace, and shopping stores. Students can also use the Sport Centre facilities during their leisure time. With a homely and friendly atmosphere, it is believed that students will enjoy their stay during all periods of study. The Student Council Sector is responsible for the provision of support and assistance to students and aims to enrich Students’ life staying in dorms.

Apartment rental

Apartments are generally owned by real estate moguls and you are unlikely to share a space with others or even see the owner. A good alternative to more traditional accommodation options, they often offer the best value for money. Electricity blackouts are an issue in winter in Uzbekistan, though not in the capital, the capital thus far. Ask in advance if this is likely to happen in your apartment block. Hot water is turned off is another common feature of life in Uzbekistan.

Hostels

Hostels are slowly making inroads in Uzbekistan. Outside of the capital, it still all has to start, and budgeteers need to take into account spending a bit more for a hotel, or camp! In the end, it depends on your pocket. All we do is get you linked to the accommodation that won’t break the bank for you.
