The Tashkent Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education

· created in 1932 for improvement of professional skills and specialization of medical doctors of Central Asia

· Is the main methodological Center of the System of Postgraduate Education and retraining of medical personnel

· Develops scientific-methodological basis, education-methodological documents and mechanisms of unification of educational process in healthcare facilities, which perform postgraduate education and retraining of medical staff.

In 2011 60 intern researchers and senior researchers – aspirants are dealing with research work at TIPME

For the period 2009-2011 PhD and Doctoral dissertations are defended by 37 staff members.

The specialized Scientific Council is functioning at TIPME on the following specialties:

International cooperation

The international cooperation is being performed in the following directions:

• Postgraduate education of foreign citizen: residency, specialization, postgraduate education of medical doctors from Sweden, India, Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan.
• Creation of International Center of Postgraduate Medical Education
• Postgraduate education abroad: participation in international conferences, seminars, symposia. Since 2007 the International Department of TIPME is the Coordinator of program of the Open Medical Institute in Uzbekistan on education of medical doctors through internship on the basis of Austrian University Clinics and conducting thematic postgraduate education on the workshops at Salzburg (Austria)
• Conducting international research and creation of the Center of Molecular Medicine and Nanotechnologies.
• Organization of international events: scientific-practical conferences, seminars, master-classes, symposia, assembly lectures.
• Contacting foreign universities, international organizations, Foundations.
