The Courses of Pediatrics provide theoretical instruction and practical training to students in the Pediatrics degree at Uzbek Medical Universities. A pediatrician is a doctor who treats newborns, children, adolescents, and young adults. Pediatricians play an important role in the health and wellbeing of your child. They have a wide range of responsibilities from conducting regular well-child checkups to diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions. Teaching and training take place at the Pediatrics Clinics and the Perinatology Centres of Universities Hospitals.
The educational programs of the courses are very close to those of “General Medicine”, however, there is a lot of research performed on the basis of deeper learning of the peculiarities of the vitality of the infantile organism. Students are able to study pediatrics, surgery of a child’s age, and many other disciplines. After completing the educational program students acquire the diploma of a pediatrician and have an opportunity to be engaged in treating patients at children’s hospitals, continue their studies, and be involved in research work. The Pediatrics Clinics in Uzbekistan consist of five departments – one for infants and toddlers, one for children of all ages, one for pediatric hematology and hemato-oncology, and two departments for pediatric resuscitation care.

Graduates are involved with the prevention, early detection, and management of problems including developmental delays and disorders, behavioral problems, functional disabilities, social stresses, and mental disorders including depression and anxiety disorders.
