About the Aviation and Aircraft Courses

The rise of jet aircraft and the booming economy had stimulated an enormous growth in air traffic that led to increased flight delays. The nation was in need of a more efficient and effective air traffic control system to better prevent delays and safety risks such as mid-air collisions. As the volume of air transportation continues to increase and more advanced aircraft are introduced, brand new modern curricula of Aviation and Aircraft are presented by the Uzbekistan Universities ready to develop solutions to enable a safe and efficient future for air transportation.

The expansion of safe air travel is largely due to advances in three major areas. First, improved aircraft systems and maintenance processes spanning propulsion, structures, and avionics, among others, led to significantly safer and more reliable flight vehicles. Second, an emphasis on aircrew and air traffic controller training and procedures enabled more robust human teaming and integration of automation systems. Third, the development and deployment of air traffic control (ATC) systems provided the necessary foundation to efficiently support growing traffic densities and improve flight safety levels.

    Educational Process

Artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches open up huge potential to revolutionize air traffic management at Uzbekistan Universities. Vast amounts of operational data can be mined to assess what strategies work best under different operating conditions. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are being used to assess a range of educational techniques that could recommend a potential solution that accounts for the user’s preference of operational criteria, such as minimizing airborne delay or maximizing the completion rate of flights. These approaches could lead to effective and actionable strategies to support air traffic management decision-making in the future.

Classes are being conducted according to the curriculum in training laboratories of the department in the following special subjects: work technology of air traffic control, radio exchange phraseology rules, and specialized training preparation. Today graduates of the Aviation departments in Uzbekistan are working as air traffic controllers and other experts in navigation services of the Tashkent airport and the regional airports. Some of them work in the “Center of Uzairnavigation” and as teachers at local Universities. Specialized training” is carried out in the center of Master-T under the “Center of Uzairnavigation”.

Educational practice is carried out in all control units of the airports of our republic.

The department has scientific and industrial practice communications with higher educational institutions of the republic and foreign research institutes of the Academy of Sciences and with the organizations. Close cooperation is adjusted with the “Center of Uzairnavigation”. It is possible to carry to a number of higher educational institutions with which the chair has scientific communications: Moscow aviation institute, Moscow state technical university of civil aviation (MGTU GA), Saint Peterburg state technical university of civil aviation, and others. The main directions of scientific research in the department are management of technical systems, in particular creating automated control systems.
